Are you having trouble speaking with braces?
Talking with braces can be difficult at first , since your body isn’t used to having a foreign object in your mouth all the time. Your tongue and lips first have to learn to “work around” the braces.
This takes a few weeks and goes fastest if you wear the braces as much as possible during the day as well. This shortens the adjustment period. The increased saliva production will also decrease noticeably.
Anyone who wears removable braces (single-arch, double-arch, or those big “plastic candies”) and can still speak clearly is an absolute champ and qualified enough to work as a TV announcer 😉
People who wear braces on the inside of their teeth take a little longer to get their tongues used to them. But even in this case, the initial lisp goes away over time, and the sore spots on the tongue become less frequent.
