Useful Information for Referring Physicians

As an orthodontic practice, we work with a network of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatricians, dentists, radiologists, ENT specialists, and speech-language pathologists. We would be delighted to welcome you to this network as well.
For orthodontic treatment, which often lasts for years, collaboration with the referring general dentists is extremely important. For us, it is an essential part of the treatment.
Patients referred to us receive the necessary orthodontic treatment that we are able to provide based on our specialization. Following treatment, patients are referred back to you as their primary care dentist.

Early Orthodontic Treatment
Ages 4–6
In cases of persistent pacifier, thumb, or finger sucking and a mouth that is frequently left open, crossbites in the front and side teeth, or the loss of baby teeth.
Ages 6–9
In cases of a large anterior step, extremely deep bites, loss of primary molars, and anterior and lateral crossbites or overbites.
Major Orthodontic Treatments
Ages 10–12
This period of rapid growth can be used to treat patients with removable and fixed appliances, often without the need for tooth extraction. In addition to any deviations from the eugnathic dentition, special attention should be paid to: retained deciduous teeth, retention issues, and agenesis (see OPG).
Ages 14–18
At this age, treatment is primarily carried out using fixed orthodontic appliances. This can also be done using discreet, aesthetically pleasing appliances. As a rule, there should be no baby teeth remaining.
Starting at age 18
Orthodontic treatment is possible at any age. Today, there is growing demand among discerning adults, in particular, for minor cosmetic corrections in visible areas.
